STEPN is a Web3 lifestyle application that integrates Game-Fi and Social-Fi elements, developed by Find Satoshi Lab. The platform is built around one of the most fundamental daily human activities—movement—introducing an innovative move-to-earn concept.
Launched in 2021, STEPN gained significant recognition by placing 4th among more than 500 projects at the Solana Ignition Hackathon 2021. It operates on the Solana blockchain, ensuring fast transactions and low fees.
In STEPN, users must own NFT-based Sneakers to participate. By walking, jogging, or running outdoors, users earn in-game tokens such as Green Satoshi Token (GST) and Green Metaverse Token (GMT). These tokens can be used within the app to upgrade assets or traded for real-world value.
Key features of STEPN include:
Move-to-Earn Mechanism: Rewards users with cryptocurrency for physical activity.
NFT Sneakers System: Each sneaker has unique attributes that influence performance and earnings.
In-App Economy: Users can repair, upgrade, mint, and trade their NFT assets.
Social-Fi Integration: Encourages community interaction and user-generated Web3 content.
Beyond financial incentives, STEPN aims to promote healthier lifestyles and raise awareness of environmental sustainability. By combining fitness, blockchain technology, and social engagement, STEPN seeks to bridge the gap between Web2 users and the emerging Web3 ecosystem.
